BMB: How did you become involved in modeling?
Regina: I always admired myself and it’s always been a passion at heart. I started taking pictures in 2010 and submitting myself as a model. Later on I’ve done Videos,Fashion Shows, and Internet commercials.
BMB: What are some of your favorite aspects of modeling and why?
Regina: Urban and High Fashion I would have to say because I love the urban culture. It fits right at home. High Fashion is that pop that I love. It’s more upscale and just out of sight amazing. Runway is something I would love to do but I’ve been told im too short and that’s not my look. I pray that will change my talent is more than great.
BMB: Do you envision modeling as a full-time career or is it just a hobby?
Regina: I feel like everyday life is modeling. Example the way I walk, my facial expression, and how I represent myself it’s 24hours of hard and easy work. What I mean about that is it’s easy being beautiful no doubt but it’s hard work submitting yourself out here. I do see myself as a full-time model when the time is right. It’s not just a hobby to me. I’m very serious about modeling and it’s my profession.
BMB: Are you currently signed to an agency or are you independent?
Regina: I am currently independent right now. I’m pretty much getting it on my own and it’s a struggle somedays but I give Glory to God and keep pushing harder. My work will show sooner than later I’ll be representing a successful company I do believe in that happening in my favor oh yes I do.
BMB: What do you feel are some misconceptions of most black, female models?
Regina: Being a black female model we are misjudged always. We weigh more than a model is supposed to and that we are just good for videos only, but its not at all true. I’m a model and I’m going to do modeling and all it’s elements so get ready to talk. I’m not going to let the haters down. I am amazing.
BMB: If you could change one thing in the modeling industry what would it be?
Regina: Hum I would change the height and weight on runway modeling because I would really like a chance to prove myself. Stop judging my height and judge my work. Maybe they can come up with a different image for modeling for the 5’1 status.
BMB: How do you feel about the modeling scene here inBirmingham?
Regina: I feel like Birmingham is not the place for a great foundation of modeling at all. There’s one agency here doing it really big their called South Models. People hate on them and that’s pretty much all we have going on here.
BMB: Describe your fantasy photo shoot?
Regina: My fantasy photo shoot will be a beautiful big tiger standing on green grass somewhat like the zoo type area. I have beautiful long hair . I’m down on my knees, legs spread apart with an arch in my back staring at this beautiful animal with passion. Yeah I love animals I must say.
BMB: Name some of your most notable accomplishments thus far?
Regina: My Most notable accomplishment are working with a casting company in ATL and taking acting classes also. Thus far has yet to come but it won’t be long fans.
BMB: What do you have coming up in the near future?
Regina: More of me you will see as far as modeling goes in all of it’s elements. I’ll be acting in plays and some movies too. Maybe more hosting also just so freaking much I’ll be doing.
BMB: How can our readers contact you?
Regina: They can hit me up on Facebook Regina Bea Thomas, Twitter @BeaSoBeautiful, and Model Mayhem Reginae Thomas also.
